Many people don't know too much about Nannies or what they do on a day to day basis. While nannies spend long days caring for and guiding their charges through this world, there are many, many benefits that come with this job. Here is why joining Kids at Home as a nanny will top any 9-5 job out there!

Make a difference

Have you heard the saying ‘It takes a big heart to shape a small mind’ ? Well it really is true! As a Nanny you will often spend more time with your care children than their parents or caregivers. You will make a big difference in the happiness of your care family, allowing their parents to work knowing their children are safe, well cared for and receiving an education.

Every day is different

With the modern family day consistently evolving you may or may not care for just one family’s children. Many families choose to ‘Nanny share’, this may be due to only requiring part time hours, or perhaps they may have friends, co-workers or family who also require a Nanny service.

The latter is ideal for families as not only does it spread the cost of a Nannies services but your care children will benefit from interacting with children outside of their family unit perhaps of different ages.

Professional Development

Kids at Home offers free educational workshops and professional development for your continual development and interest. Our Professional Service Manager is dedicated to providing support to further develop the curriculum and programme you offer.

Flexibility and ownership

Our ‘Kids Day Out’ is a regular excursion to places such as the Zoo, Museum, SPCA etc for Educators, Nannies and care children, families are welcome to join too.

'Being a nanny is more than just a job. There's a lot of responsibility that comes with it, but you also get to build a special bond with the kids you work with. Once a child has that trust in you, you gain a very important role in his or her life, especially when the parent is not around. And it's really nice to be able to fill in for parents and have them be comfortable that their kids are being taken care of. I've had a few jobs over the years, but I always come back to nannying. Because even with all the different houses I go to, after a little while with the children, it's like they're pretty much family.'  – Jeanette
