Kids at Home Taupo

'Children are engaged in science whenever they are learning about the world around them. This sort of play allows children to develop a perception of themselves as 'explorers' meaning competent, confident learners who ask questions and make discoveries'.

This week Taupo Home-based Educator Jennifer has been busy with wee hands planting seeds! Wonderful team work was displayed and lots of chatter about the activity at hand between the children and Jennifer.

Activities such as this can be supported by asking questions, inviting children to describe what they can see, supporting them to touch, taste, listen and smell items and encouraging them to come up with their own explanations.

Well done team, we can't wait to see your Poppies and Sunflowers bloom!
