Four care kids, a daughter, mother nature on show on a glorious, hot summers day.

We packed the car all ready to go
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

We unlatched the gate, walked on up the track
All kids smiling and hooting away
Cicadas were singing their melody strong
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

We found huts built from branches, fallen from trees, picked up from right where they lay
Inside we stepped into cobwebs hung low
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

We braved blackberry bushes, all thorny and sharp, as we followed this path all astray
Butterflies fluttered round dragonfly lairs
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

We climbed over trees, all fallen from rot
Where the fairies might secretly play
Birds flapped their wings, a little mouse ran
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

The lake shimmers and glistens with a backdrop of wild, rugged bush with its angelic fray
The kids are fatigued but keep travelling we must
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

We come into sight the end of the track, two hours have ticked, tocked away
The sign said in bold 40 minutes will do
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay

Our footprints we'll leave in the damp, earthly ground, our laughs will linger all day
We'll remember quite fondly, these fun memories
On a walking track out Whakaipo bay
