Oropi, Tauranga

Hi, my name is Michelle.

I live in Oropi on a small farm where I have set up my home-based environment called the Fantails Nest.

The Fantails Nest is a separate building from my house it is fully set up for the children where they can freely explore, play and learn. The best way to describe it, is it is set up like a mini daycare atmosphere as everything that is in there is for the children but the benefits of being in a home-based setting, where there would only ever be four children at any time.

I have a very large outdoor play area and plenty of room for a variety of outdoor equipment. I have tractor tyres, balance bemas, different style swing sets, obstacle course, slides, a sandpit, bikes and the list goes on.

I enjoy changing my environment around for the children depending what we are focusing on and the interest of the children.

We also have the great opportunity to go and explore my farm property, feed the horse and check the cows - spending time with nature!

I enjoy planning different themes each term around the children's interest and developmental stage that they are at and incorporate that within their play and activities that I have on offer for them along with getting the older ones ready for school.

I have worked with children of all ages and been involved working with children in a variety of activities such as a swimming instructor, daycare provider, after school care coordinator, Teacher aide, Guide/Brownie/Pippins leader as well as been a mother of three children. I also have a current first aid certificate that will always be kept up to date.

I have childcare spaces available and would love to discuss your family's needs as well as your aspirations for your child. I look forward to meeting you!
