Zoe

Otumoetai, Tauranga

Hi! My name is Zoe, I am a single mother of one lovely girl named Skyla.

I have years of experience working with children in different contexts including completing the PAFTS Certificate (Parents as First Teachers) through Plunket. This is a three year course where a PAFT teacher comes in to your home each month and takes you through different stages of your child's overall development including speech, fine motor skills and behaviours.

I also attended Otumoetai Playcentre with my daughter. A group of parents work together to set up the different activities at play centre which I enjoyed. I have also helped out on many school trips as my daughter has gone through school.

I have a current First Aid certificate. I would love to upskill and study and complete an Early Childhood qualification.

Being new to Kids at Home, I am really looking forward to working with the children and their families. I enjoy guiding children through their learning journey, helping them grow the confidence they need to discover and experience the best of every day life.

I am to provide a comforting, warm environment, I truly believe that every child deserves to feel special. I particuarly enjoy play-based activities such as pretend play, arts and crafts and science experiments based on the childrens interests. As a parent I understand how important it is to see your childs individual interests being nurtured and maintained!

I am a very caring and approachable person, I am also flexible with hours/arrangements of care - this includes being available in the school holidays.

I look forward to attending planned activities such as Kids at Home playgroups and other fun events in the local community with my care children. Groups I intend on becoming involved in are; the Otumoetai Playcentre which is across the road from my home, community play and music groups which are also nearby. And of course a personal favourite, the library.

We have walk ways at the end of our street that take us on a nature bush/board walk down to the duck ponds. There are a variety of different birds, plants and wonderful playground that I look forward to enjoying with the children. Any other suggestions or ideas are always welcome!

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming your family into my home-based care programme.
