Hi there, my name is Leanne and I have been a stay at home mum for 25 years. I have six children of my own ranging in age from 25 to 15. I have happily worked as a Home-based Educator for over 12 years now.
I have always been involved with playgroups, starting when my own children were little and attending playcentre with them, becoming an active member of the centre and taking part in the fantastic training that is a part of the Playcentre Associations philosophy.
I have continued with different areas of early childhood education through home-based services and workships that Kids at Home provide for Educators and Nannies. As well as keeping my first aid certificate up to date at all times.
At home I provide a fully fenced outside area which has easy inside outside flow making it very accessible for the children to use either area. The children and I attend Kids at Home's playgroup once a week, and most of the Kids Day out events that are provided at no extra cost to families. We also enjoy attending 'Hip Hoppers' music group once a week.
I enjoy helping children strive to reach their goals and with a small group environment I feel that I am able to do that with each child as they all have different interests and personalities! I enjoy teaching the children how to share, interact and respect each other as well as engage with children of different ages whether this is playing with or alongside them.
If you choose to have me as a home-based Educator I will give your child the same level of care and nurturing that I have given my own children. I promise that your child will be well loved and nurtured, treated with respect at all times and will soon feel like a part of our very loving and fun family!

- 'Leanne and I shared in the same philosophy around how I wanted my son to be raised. She is a mother herself of a large family and my son was welcomed into her Whanau environment. I wanted my son to be in a home environment where he could be nurtured and have the freedom to engage in play and learning at his own pace. Jax flourished in Leanne's care and I could see she truly cared about him as a person. Leanne is fun-loving, dedicated, nurturing, knowledgable and has an awesome sense of humour which my son loved about her as they shared in laughter and memory making. It was vital for my husband to trust the person who would be caring for our son, Leanne became a valued member of our family as we all worked together for the benefit of our son. We felt she was authentic in her interactions with Jax and genuinely cared about his well-being. Leanne provided Jax with ample opportunities to be engaged in a simulating environment by knowing him well and following his lead in play. Leanne attended regular music and playgroups which Jax loved and this is where he was able to flourish in his social skills and his leadership shone as he took on the role of helping others and supporting mat times by leading these himself! This was awesome to see the ways in which there is so much flexibility in home-based education. Jax could move and manipulate the environment at his own leisure and he learnt so much! His transition to school was a breeze as Leanne had supported his development and learning for two years and had set him up for success in this learning journey. I am thankful to have had my son in Leanne's care and value her as a close friend and family member.' - G. Cole
