Hi, I'm Paula and I'm the founder and owner of Kids at Home. 

I started Kids at Home in August 2002.  At that stage I had my son, Matthew who was nearly two and twins, Olivia and Jessica who were 5 months old. While looking for outside assistance, I realised there were no nanny agencies in the

Te Awamutu area that met my needs.  I did a bit of research and what

followed was many hours in the evenings spent setting up Kids at Home. 

Those hours were all worth it though - It has been a fantastic experience and I am very proud of where Kids at Home is today.

I am extremely lucky to have great support from Steve, my partner and

co-director at Kids at Home.  He has been amazing over the last nine years

and can even occasionally talk a bit of ECE-jargon!

My family are also very supportive with Karen (my sister) now working as our

Office and Marketing Manager, and as you will see from this website, doing an amazing job! 

Janine (my other sister) is also an Early Childhood Teacher and provides me with updates and advice

about the sector. And Mum and Dad, of course, assist me with every aspect of life in a busy family!

I am so proud of our team at Kids at Home.  Please read their profiles to get an idea of their experience, professionalism and dedication to children.  We are so lucky to have such a diverse range of skills in our

team. Come along to any of our playgroups, music groups and gymnastics sessions or outings to see their passion for yourselves.   

Kids at Home has provided me with so many opportunities to meet amazing people, awesome kids and

to learn about the early childhood sector - this alone has made all the work worthwhile.  Over the years

Kids at Home has evolved from solely a nanny agency, to providing a full range of home based

childcare services. 

We have spent a great deal of time and effort over the years making sure we provide a quality

programme and this effort was rewarded when we were the FIRST homebased childcare service in

the Waikato region to become fully registered under the new MOE regulations.  In March 2011 we merged

our other homebased child care company, Easy Mind Waikato, with Kids at Home.  I have also joined the executive committee of the New Zealand Homebased Early Childhood Education Association (phew!),

which keeps me up-to-date with the industry!
