Hi, I'm Sharon and I have a passion for quality in early childhood

education.

My qualifications are;

- Bachelor of Teaching (ECE)

- Current first aid certificate.

- Certificate in Adult Teaching

I have eleven years experience in the early childhood industry, and am a

fully registered teacher. 

I first started as a homebased educator, while my own children were

little. I soon realised this was going to be my career so I got a job as

a teacher-in-training at a centre while studying for my qualification. 

After three and a half years I qualified with a Diploma in ECE and was

promoted to Centre Manager of a licensed centre with 75 children and 15 permanent staff. A further

three years I was promoted to Operations Support Manager for ten ECE centres. During this time

I upgraded my Diploma to a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE).  I joined Kids at Home as Regional Manager

about 18 months ago.

I live in a character bungalow in Te Awamutu with my two daughters; Scarlett aged 15 and

Shayla aged 14. I have a horse, a german shepherd dog, a pet kune kune pig, a cockatoo and

three cats – I’m obviously an animal lover! When I am not working I enjoy horse trekking and dog agility.
