Homebased childcare is all about options - it's about what works

for you and your family.  At Kids at Home, we offer the following childcare options:

1. Homebased care
Your child is cared for in the home of one of our trained educators in a very small group of no more than four children. Small groups like this allow for plenty of individual care and attention and give children learning opportunities that are tailored to their unique interests and talents.

2. Nanny care
Your child is cared for in your own home by a Nanny.

3. Centre-based care
Kids at Home has recently opened a session-based early childhood education centre known as Little Ladybugs Learning Centre.  This centre is available to three and four-year-old children who are not participating in any other early childhood services.  It is open from 12 noon to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and allows parents/whaanau to take advantage of the 20 Hours ECE the government makes available to all three and four-year-olds in New Zealand.  Essentially if your child qualifies for 20 Hours ECE and is not using that entitlement elsewhere, then attending our service will cost parents/whaanau nothing.  Yes, that's right ... it's free! Safety: all our educators and nannies are Police and CYFS-checked prior to starting with us.  So too, is anyone in their home over the age of 16. They are also interviewed by our qualified Visiting Teachers for suitability and any premises where care is carried out must meet strict regulations with regard to health and safety - these are set by the Ministry of Education.

Support and programme implementation: all educators and nannies are supported and regularly visited by our qualified Early Childhood Visiting Teachers who assist in the planning and implementation of New Zealand's early childhood curriculum,Te Whaariki (click here for a brief summary of Te Whaariki.) 

Playgroups and excursions: everyone in the Kids at Home service is entitled to attend our regular play, music and gymnastics groups, and to join us on our excursions.  We also have an extensive toy and book library and provide regular, informative newsletters.

Kids at Home is Ministry of Education and WINZ-approved.  We were the first homebased childcare service in the Waikato region to have a full licence under the new Ministry of Education regulations.
