'Hi Kristan (VT), A big thank you for all the support you gave me while I was looking at different options for my son’s care last year. You suggested a few different women whom I met with, and Tanya happened to suit me perfectly. I really appreciated you getting in touch and encouraging me to meet with the carers as often as I needed to feel comfortable. You asked great questions and helped me feel comfortable with the idea of leaving my son in someone else’s care.' - Katherine | Parent

VISITING TEACHERS

Our passionate team of Visiting Teachers support networks of home-based Educators and Nannies within their role. Visits are scheduled at least once a month to the Educators home however contact is maintained at least once a fortnight. Our Visiting Teachers are required to see each child in thier care environment monthly and are available to families at any time for a chat. It is important that everyone is rowing the boat inthe same direction!

A Visiting Teachers role involves professional development; running workshops and assisting with any further study an individual may choose to undertake.  Planning; working alongside Educators with programme planning following our national ECE curriculum, Te Whariki ,as well as hosting regular playgroups and events.

Finally our Visiting Teachers play a part in the development of relationships between Educators and Families. Kids at Home values relationships with Visiting Teachers, Educators and Families, all built and strengthened by mutual trust and respect.
