Hi, my name is Catherine! I love being an Educator with Kids at Home Waikato. Two of my values as an Educator that I pride myself in are fostering my care children’s independence and developing and maintaining quality relationships with not only the children but their families.
Activities the children and I enjoy are going on local walks, playdates with other Educators and their care children, going to the playground, collecting natural resources for craft activities, and going to the skate park at the velodrome.
We set up obstacle courses with hoops, balance beams, hurdles, skipping ropes, gaining confidence in body control, and physical ability. We always have music playing and sing songs, developing communication skills and expression.
I have four beautiful children, three sons, and one daughter. My home has a large outdoor space which is fantastic for bikes, scooters, running races, etc. Indoors we have a large collection of age-appropriate toys and equipment including puzzles, blocks, dress-ups, cars, play bbq and kitchen, musical instruments… books, and more!
Caring for and educating children is a passion of mine, as a mother and home-based Educator I have a wealth of knowledge, and also experience caring for children with health requirements such as Asthma, cerebral palsy, allergies, and more.
I work Monday to Friday and I am flexible to work with your family’s requirements, available for early starts if required. Contact the Kids at Home team to arrange a meeting if you would like to enquire about home-based care with me!
