Hi, my name is Lisa! My husband’s name is Jon and we have two children in their teens.
I have been working with children for over 20 years, including nannying in London, Italy and America. I have been doing home-based care with Kids at Home since 2009.
In 2020 I studied through Open Polytechnic and achieved my Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care. I also have a current First Aid certificate which is renewed every two years, as well as a full driver’s license.
I am a warm and caring person and I provide a great home environment with lots of resources. Our home has great indoor and outdoor areas for the children to learn and grow.
My house is in Windermere, near Toi Ohomai – Institute of Technology, so I am perfectly placed if you are wanting to study, as well as centrally located for working parents who commute.
I have my own car seats to use for all the children in my care to make it easier for parents if you wish to provide your own car seat that is wonderful.
I love to provide planned activities and outings in our community such as Kids at Home playgroups and term outings. The children and I also enjoy library time, music and tumble time as well as visits to local parks and playgrounds.
Our ratio of 4 children to 1 adult means your child gets lots of one-on-one time and individual attention. As we can only have two children under 2 at any time means everyone is easily taken care of and no situation is too overwhelming for younger or shy children.
Thanks for taking the time to read about me, I hope to get to know you soon!

Going back to work so soon after the birth of our youngest was a bit of a shock. With a 4 month old and a 4 year old we wanted our daughters to have a safe and family feel childcare that they would otherwise be getting at home with us. We also wanted a smaller ratio childcare for our children and discovered Homebased Care. We found Lisa who lived only a stone throw away and clicked as soon as we met her, her home is always clean and tidy, best of all our girls would come home happy and healthy. We always felt as if we were there as Lisa made an effort to document and share about Brookes day which meant alot and felt that she would treat Brooke as if she was one of her own. I would of been lost without Lisa, her attention to detail is amazing. Fast forward 4 years later our youngest Brooke is preparing for school, Thank you so much Lisa for helping us raise our baby girl, she learnt so much from you. – Briar
We have known Lisa and her family for the past four years. She has cared for our young children from Four months old to Four years old alongside Edubase, Kids at Home. During her time caring for our children we have found her to be an warm and professional educator. Her home provided the ideal environment for our children to grow and thrive. Lisa always provided care and activities that catered to the individual stage of our children’s development as well as facilitating their individual interests and preferences. An inclusive environment with varied activities both at home and during regular outings meant that our children were exposed the new experiences in a calm an unhurried manner. Lisa always did her best to ensure personal routines were as close to those provided by parents as possible to ensure continuation of care and her communication and organisation was exceptional. We Would have no hesitation in recommending Lisa as a home based educator to families in the future and wish her all the best for the continued success of her career. – Paul & Lysa Savell
